Who are the Fleshpots?

Formed at Luther Seminary in 2004, this eclectic group of string-benders, chord-busters, and lyric-yowlers embodies how Lutheran music would sound if the Reformation had started in Appalachia. Unlike most Lutherans, the Fleshpots are known for their harmony, improvisation, and soul. The Fleshpots include Rolf Jacobson (lead singer and driver of the Winnebago), Scott Simmons (sings high lonesome and operates a mandolin), Steve Thompson (sings silky baritone and is the band’s musician), and Jeff Engholm (sings mellow bass and works Casper the friendly bass).
